Roundup Lien Resolution
Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, is the most widely used herbicide in the world. Roundup itself is the most commonly used herbicide in American agriculture. Roundup is used on commercial crops, gardens, residential lawns, parks, playgrounds, plant nurseries, golf courses, and more.
Tens of thousands of Roundup users have filed suits claiming that the product caused them serious health problems’, the most common being non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Although a significant percentage of those lawsuits involves landscapers, gardeners, and farmers, anyone who has used the product is potentially at risk for illness. The original maker of Roundup—Monsanto—paid out around $11 billion to settle claims before Bayer purchased the company, and about 30,000 lawsuits remain pending. Bayer committed to ending residential sales of Roundup in 2023. A substantial portion of the healthcare liens related to Roundup settlements involve Medicare and private lienholders.
